Warm, welcoming and ultra laid back, the small country town of Tahmoor is ready to boom.

Tahmoor is located 90 minutes drive south of Sydney in the Macarthur Region of New South Wales in the Wollondilly Shire, just a quick 10 minutes out of Picton.

The main shopping district along Remembrance Driveway, features a good selection of shops, a Woolworths and Aldi supermarket, plus take away food outlets including a Thai restaurant and pizza bar to satisfy the hunger pains. Several fitness and sports grounds keep everyone active, plus there is a great weekend fruit and veg market where you can also pick up a potted plant and craft or two.

Children attend the local Tahmoor Public School, nearby Wollondilly Anglican College or Picton High School, the local Tahmoor railway station connects commuters anywhere along the Southern Highlands line, and the local coach line provides all the necessary bus services.

When you’re craving a nature fix, the lovely Bargo River that crosses just south of the town, has tranquil waters meandering through natural rock, bush walking trails and water falls, to instantly calm the nerves.

People

Easy going and down-to-earth pretty much sums up the community of Tahmoor. There are families of all ages living in the area, retired professionals, and a healthy dose miners who work locally for the Tahmoor Coal Mine.

Many of the older established homes in Tahmoor hail from the 1970’s and 80’s. You’ll find a variety of well maintained red brick properties, spacious single-level family homes and modern townhouses, plus the opportunity to still secure a brand new development property or a block of land with beautiful countywide views.

Transport

+ Tahmoor Public School is a combination of modern and original buildings and is surrounded by an expansive playground and award winning gardens. A computer lab, an Opportunity Class, children's art gallery and a well equipped library are all important features of the school.
+ Wollondilly Anglican College is a Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 co-educational College. Located in pleasant rural surroundings

+ Tahmoor Town Centre has a variety of supermarkets, take away cafes, a chemist and Post Office
+ The Tahmoor Inn recently rebuilt and refurbished the interior of the hotel to create a modern feel with great food, a good selection of beer and wine, warm hospitality and a friendly atmosphere.

Recreational Facilities

+ Windsong Lavender Farm is 3km from Tahmoor. You are invited to meander among the many beautiful lavenders ranging from white through to pink and purples.
+ Bronzewing Tours offer locals and visitors to the area the opportunity to explore the Wollondilly Shire and indeed all of the State in their luzury air conditioned coaches.
